Last friday we went to Nancy and Alex's place to have a Wii party. I saw Elanor had a pedometer on her. She said she has been on a competition with friends. they have to record how many steps they walk every day for a week. According to statistic, you have to walk 10000 steps a day to keep healthy. So i bought one from Rebel sport yesterday. It was made in Taiwan. Small little thing costs me 30 dollars (780 Taiwanese dollars?). I bet this probably costs only 150 Taiwanese dollars Maximum in Taiwan. Anyway, Today I swtiched it on and record it. So far I have 13966 steps (now its 10 pm). Looks like I walk pretty much enough for an average day. Cool.

Yoga
I have been practicing yoga for a long time. In Taiwan a lot of people think yoga can help you to lose weight and treat it as an exercise. I think Yoga is indeed an exercise but it's more for the mind rather than for the body. You don't lose weight on doing yoga, you just get toner and stronger body, more flexible and calmer spiritually. I had great trouble doing yoga before because my mind was always so busy and yoga just felt so boring. Every yoga pose has a purpose for your inner organs and the breathing helped the mind. These days I go to gym and do two classes a week with everyone and on top of that everymorning I get up at 5:30 am and do 10 mins or yoga before going bed to sleep for another 30 mins. Today I finally realised how good it could be. I couldn't remember when was the last time I got sick. My body is always warm that I never need to wear much clothes. I sleep very well everyday and I will consider myself quite a happy person and able to control my emotion if I choose to. Maybe yoga is worth the try if you haven't tried it.

The OZ kids sometimes will get fairy comes in, jumping castle or some sort of science club people to come in making rocket...harry potter club....whatever you can think of. My neighbor just has the ordinary pool party with food cake and friends. For a 5 or 6 year old. Aren't they lucky? this happens everyweek in between my students. always different..fancy fancy and more fancy!!

Change of new flamenco dance school
After 8 years learning Flamenco with Katia we decided to change school to Stanmore 2 years ago. The teachers in Stanmore were great. But it was just too far. So this year after we realised there is another SPanish flamenco teacher in the northern beaches, all of us changed school again. Like gypsies. We move with whatever comes attractive to us. The new school doesn't have a fixed venue. The teacher Marina just hired different venues alongside the northern beaches. Yesterday I went for the first group lesson (I took a private lesson with her last week gee that was expensive. $100 per hour!!) , both her private and group lessons were awesome. In one class you get to do the percussion, dance, castanets, fan and shawl. None of the gears we bought before became a waste. So we were very happy. Flamenco society is so small. All the students like us move between studios to studios..... So many familiar faces were there last night too.

golf competition

I went to see the international Golf competition at Dong Fan golf club. Gosh the professional competition is indeed different. Damn I forgot to bring my camera with me that day. It was freezing but it was absolutely eye opening to see how professionals did it. I was talking to the young golfer from Japan. Her dad told me that he spent millions on her for training.....oh this photo is not at the professional venue la. Just us playing. Looking so uncool.

ice skating in Taiwan

Do you know Tuesday at Ice skating Rink in Taipei is really cheap for working people? You just need to show them that you have a job. I showed them my business card in Sydney. Then license to prove the name Susie wang is really mine. The normal price is 300 something not incluind hiring of knee pad...etc. But Tuesday night $150 is including everything plus entry. You only need to bring gloves. They won't let you in without one. we didn't bring it so We have to buy it there. Its 50 each so its ok. So nice to skate in taiwan. Beautiful ice skating rink. Bit small though. You can't do too much fancy stufflike the good one spinning and one leg up that I used to do. But I am happy enough. Willg o again next Tuesday. Anyone wants to come?
